Job summary

Cook Children's Health Care System is seeking a Medical Assistant (Locum Tenens) to deliver competent pediatric care under supervision. The role involves floating to multiple CCPN locations, adapting to different routines and expectations, and maintaining high standards of patient relations and clinical practice.

Ideal candidates have graduated from an accredited medical assisting program and may have up to 1 year of pediatric outpatient experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of medical assisting.
• 1-year experience as a medical assistant in a pediatric outpatient care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver competent and skilled care to patients and families under RN/LVN and physician supervision.
• Demonstrate teamwork, good customer relations, and sound clinical judgment.
• Float to CCPN office locations as assigned and adapt to varying routines and procedures.

Standard Weekly Hours: 8

Summary: The MA, Internal Staffing will deliver competent and skilled care to patients and families as supervised and assigned by the RN/LVN and/or physician/nurse practitioner. The Medical Assistant will deliver competent care with a team orientated attitude and an emphasis on good customer relations and sound clinical judgment. This position floats to the various CCPN office locations as assigned. Eagerly adjusts to a variety of locations, quickly learning differing routines, procedures, and physician expectations. Role model for all staff, displaying strict adherence to all policies and procedures; impeccable judgement. Exhibits extraordinary dependability and adaptability. Extensive travel required. Skillfully and consistently performs daily clinical duties per established policy and procedure.

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited school of medical assisting.
• 1-year experience as a medical assistant in a pediatric outpatient care setting preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

• Current AHA healthcare provider BLS.
• Valid Texas drivers license and current Texas automobile liability insurance.
• Current National MA certification - preferred.
