Job summary

Bronson Internal Medicine And Pediatrics is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform clinical duties, enter patient data in the EMR, and support providers in a busy outpatient practice in Kalamazoo. You will document vitals, assist with exams, and help with scheduling and procedures.

You’ll work with a team of clinicians, maintain patient confidentiality, and ensure accurate charting and timely patient care. BLS within 90 days is required and external bonuses are offered.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 90 days of hire/transfer
• Knowledge of clinical skills per Medical Assistant Certification/Registration
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to handle confidential information
• Clear and effective communication with patients, doctors and staff
• Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
• Proficiency with inputting patient data into EMR and charting
• High school diploma or GED required

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations including assessment, vitals and medication reconciliation
• Document information in patient charts and ensure chart accuracy
• Administer treatments as directed by the physician and collect specimens
• Assist with procedures (laceration repair, pap/pelvic, etc.)
• Schedule outside tests or procedures and coordinate with other departments
• Maintain inventory and stock supplies; manage EMR scheduling and patient flow
• Screen calls for urgency and assist with appointment management
• Attend required staff and educational meetings and support billing as needed
