Job summary

Henry Ford Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care at our Novi location. Under supervision, you will perform administrative and clinical tasks to ensure a seamless patient experience, including rooming patients, obtaining histories, and assisting providers.

The ideal candidate has a Medical Assistant program with externship or recent clinical experience, BLS-C, and EPIC EMR familiarity. This full-time daytime role offers growth and a strong team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program with 160-hour clinical externship, or 1 year recent clinical experience in medical assisting.
• Current BLS-C certification on hire or by end of orientation.
• Experience with EPIC EMR preferred.

What You Will Need

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160-hour minimum), OR
  • Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five years, OR
  • Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of one year of experience in clinical medical assisting, OR
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), OR
  • Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years, OR
  • Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years.
• Current BLS-C upon hire or successful completion by the end of orientation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
