Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Michigan is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and nursing leadership by performing a blend of administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring a seamless and positive patient experience at our Sterling Heights location.

You will greet and escort patients, obtain medical histories, measure vital signs, prepare for examinations, and assist during procedures, contributing to efficient, compassionate care across a major physician group.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with externship (160 hour minimum).
• Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five years.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification with minimum five years of experience; OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
• Licensed Paramedic/EMT with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years.
• Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in a clinical medical setting within the past five years.
• Preferred: EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.

Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a formal clinical externship (160 hour minimum).OR

Graduate from a Medical Assistant program without completion of a clinical externship but with a minimum one-year experience in clinical medical assisting within the past five (5) years.OR

Current Professionally Recognized Medical Assistant Certification with a minimum of five (5) years of experience in clinical medical assisting. OR Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).OR

Licensed Paramedic/Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.OR

Military trained medical personnel with at least one-year clinical experience in clinical medical setting within the past five (5) years.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
• EPIC (Electronic Medical Record) experience.
