Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Medical Assistant-Intermediate for the PCC Fountainhead West outpatient site in San Antonio. The role covers vital signs, injections, specimen collection, POCT, and EMR documentation, coordinating with physicians to ensure efficient patient care.

The candidate will support administrative duties and maintain clean exam rooms, enabling smooth patient flow. At least three years of MA experience and EPIC familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of directly-related experience as a Medical Assistant is required.
• EPIC software knowledge may be required; EPIC super user experience is a plus.
• Experience in outpatient care settings and EMR documentation is valued.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and assist with injections.
• Perform simple diagnostic tests and collect specimens.
• Sterilize and clean equipment; maintain examination rooms.
• Document patient information in the EMR and relay findings to physicians.
• Manage patient appointments and clinic communications.
• Handle medication refills as per clinic policy.
• Assist in point-of-care testing and report results to RN/Provider.
• Provide support across clinical and some administrative tasks as needed.
