UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Medical Assistant for an outpatient care site in San Antonio, TX. Under direct supervision, the role includes taking vital signs, giving injections, collecting specimens, performing POCT, and supporting patient flow while maintaining examination rooms.

You will document patient records in the EMR, assist with inventory, and coordinate with nursing staff to ensure timely care. EPIC experience is preferred and beneficial for the role.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare is preferred.
• Communicates effectively, written and verbally.
• Meets all training and competency requirements.

Responsabilités

• Calls patient to triage area to take vital signs, completes screenings and documents in EMR/chart.
• Maintains patient flow in and out of exam room, prepares patients as needed for examination to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner.
• Administers medications as ordered.
• Collects and processes laboratory specimens as ordered.
• Cleans and prepares examination rooms prior to patient appointments.
• Assists in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed.
• Performs Point of Care Testing (POCT), documents and reports clinical findings to Registered Nurse (RN) in charge and/or Provider.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
