Job summary

Spero Health, Inc. is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Muncie, IN. This role supports integrated care alongside counseling, case management, and medically assisted treatment, helping us treat the whole person.

Duties include scheduling, patient check-in/out, vitals, urine drug screens, inputting data into the EHR, calling in medications, and assisting with phlebotomy and injections. CPR certification is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.
• 1–3 years as a Medical Assistant.
• Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred.
• Experience with injections preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments.
• Answer incoming calls and check voice messages regularly.
• Check patients in/out, monitor patient flow.
• Perform urine drug screens, takes vitals, assist with patient evaluations.
• Call in patient medication as directed by Physician.
• Input accurate patient information into electronic health record.
• Sending prior-authorizations to insurance companies.
• Perform daily financial summary and balance of payments received.
• Responsible for cash collection and verification of benefits.
• Review the Prescription Monitoring Database.
• Provide education and resource information regarding medication.
