Job summary

Spero Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Scranton, PA. This role supports integrated care, including counseling, case management, and medically assisted treatment, helping patients throughout the care continuum.

Responsibilities include appointment scheduling, patient check-in/out, vitals, drug screens, and EHR data entry, with a focus on accurate records and timely communication with providers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.
• 1-3 years as a Medical Assistant or similar role.
• Phlebotomy and lab experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments.
• Answer incoming calls and check voice messages regularly.
• Check patients in/out and monitor patient flow.
• Perform urine drug screens, take vitals, assist with evaluations.
• Call in patient medications as directed by Physician.
• Input accurate patient information into the EHR.
• Send prior-authorizations to insurance companies.
• Perform daily financial summary and balance payments received.
