Job summary

Centura College in Newport News, VA, seeks a Medical Assistant Instructor to teach and mentor students in classroom and lab settings. You will develop and deliver coursework, manage class materials, and maintain accurate records.

The role includes a 5-day paid instructor training program and a compensation package featuring an hourly rate up to $25 with a $2,500 sign-on bonus. Ideal candidates bring at least 3 years of practical experience, relevant certification, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven educational environment.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and multi-tasking abilities.
• Willingness to travel locally or overnight occasionally for business.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes on a regularly scheduled basis and create a welcoming environment for students.
• Assist in curriculum development, course materials, scheduling, and equipment management.
• Maintain neat, organized classroom or lab spaces.
• Establish and maintain academic and attendance records for student files.
• Submit attendance, grades, evaluations, and reports as required.
• Notify supervisor of issues warranting attention.
• Utilize retention techniques to assist students.
• Complete required teacher education modules as assigned.
• Attend and/or conduct mandatory meetings and trainings.
• Assist with department equipment and inventory.
