Job summary

Cibola General Hospital in Grants, NM is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team of compassionate caregivers. This 25-bed critical access facility offers patient-centered care with access to the latest technologies and opportunities for professional growth in a supportive environment.

The Medical Assistant I will support providers, record vitals, assist with exams, and cover receptionist duties when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified MA or CNA preferred.
• CPR Certification.
• Proficient in the use of a computer and other office equipment (fax, calculator, copier).
• Ability to run CLIA waived tests.
• Ability to administer meds/vaccines by injection.
• Proficient in reading and documentation of medical records.
• Strong verbal and writing communication skills.
• Good interpersonal ability.

Responsibilities

• Call patients back and record vitals in the medical record.
• Assist with procedures.
• Run CLIA waived tests (dipstick urine, accu check, pregnancy).
• Phone calls to patients for follow ups or to schedule appointments.
• Schedule referrals and prepare/send records as needed.
• Pull records and place results for providers review.
• Triage phone calls and emergency visits as needed.
• Maintain proper format of the medical record per Office Policies.
• Ordering of necessary supplies.
• Back up for Receptionist.
• Follow the Code of Conduct and Office Policies and Procedures.
