Job summary

AltaMed Health Services is seeking a Medical Assistant III-Lead in Los Angeles to support direct patient care within regulatory scope. The role includes injections, skin tests, oral meds, and blood specimen collection under supervision.

Qualified candidates have a Medical Assistant diploma, high school/GED, and preferably a California phlebotomist license with at least four years of experience, including work with frail or elderly populations. BLS certification is expected.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED, along with a Medical Assistant diploma, required.
• A California phlebotomist license is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience, preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience with frail or elderly population, preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following AHA/Red Cross guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under regulatory scope of practice.
• Administer intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal injections and skin tests.
• Administer oral medication and perform venipunctures and skin punctures for blood specimens.

Job Overview

The Medical Assistant III-Lead within the regulatory scope of practice, assists in the provision of direct patient care by performing routine patient care procedures, and technical and clerical supportive services in the clinical setting. The MA III may administer intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal injections and may perform skin tests, administer oral medication, venipunctures, and skin punctures for blood specimens.

Minimum Requirements

• High School graduate or GED, along with a Medical Assistant diploma, required.
• A California phlebotomist license is preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience, preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with a frail or elderly population is preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

$27.25 - $32.02 hourly
