Job summary

AltaMed in Long Beach is seeking a Medical Assistant to support direct patient care in a busy clinical setting. Responsibilities include administering IM/SC/ID injections, performing skin tests, and collecting venous blood samples, while providing essential clerical support.

Requirements include a Medical Assistant diploma, 1 year of experience (2 years preferred), and bilingual skills (English plus Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese depending on location). A valid BLS certification is required.

Job Overview

This role assists in the provision of direct patient care by performing routine patient care procedures, technical and clerical supportive services in the clinical setting. The Medical Assistant may administer intramuscular, subcutaneous , or intradermal injections , and may perform skin tests , administer oral medication, venipunctures , and skin punctures for blood specimens.

Minimum Requirements

Medical Assistant diploma required . High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

A minimum of one year of experience required, two years preferred .

Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on location required .

A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.

Compensation

$26.00 - $30.55 hourly
