Job summary

Millennium Physician Group is hiring a Medical Assistant to support physicians, hospitalists, and healthcare teams in outpatient and hospital settings. You will manage patient intake, vitals, EHR documentation, and coordination of care, while upholding HIPAA and safety standards.

You should have a Medical Assistant program credential, 1+ year experience, BLS, and EHR proficiency (Epic/Athena/Cerner). Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred to assist diverse patients.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in a physician's office, clinic, or hospital setting.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Certification or registration (AAMA, AMT, NHA, or equivalent).
• Experience with statewide EHR systems (Epic, Athena, Cerner, or equivalent).
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Certified in EKG or phlebotomy preferred.
• Prior exposure to multi-specialty or hospital environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient intakes, including vital signs and histories.
• Assist providers during examinations, minor procedures, and testing.
• Perform EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection per policy.
• Prepare, label, and process laboratory samples and point-of-care tests.
• Maintain infection control and safety protocols across clinical areas.
• Support triage, care coordination, and transitions between settings.
• Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care.
• Document clinical data in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Schedule and track appointments, referrals, and test results.
• Verify insurance and assist with prior authorizations and coding.
• Monitor inventory and prepare examination rooms with needed supplies.
• Participate in performance improvement and safety drills.
