Job summary

Millennium Physician Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in outpatient and hospital-based settings. You will take vitals, assist with exams and procedures, perform EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection, and ensure accurate documentation in the EHR.

You will coordinate patient flow, education, triage, and referrals while adhering to HIPAA and safety standards. Training opportunities and a collaborative team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.430
• 1+ years in physician's office, clinic, or hospital setting.
• Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (Epic, Athena, Cerner, or equivalent).
• BLS certification required.
• Certification or registration (AAMA, AMT, NHA, or equivalent) required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts comprehensive patient intakes including vitals, histories, and allergies.
• Assists providers during examinations, procedures, wound care, and testing.
• Performs EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection according to policy.
• Prepares, labels, and processes laboratory samples and point-of-care tests.
• Maintains infection control and equipment calibration across clinical areas.
• Supports care coordination, triage, and transitions between settings.
• Educates patients on medications, treatment plans, and preventive care.
• Documents data in EHR and coordinates appointments, referrals, and authorizations.
• Verifies insurance coverage and assists with prior authorizations, billing, and coding as needed.
