Job summary

Millennium Physician Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in outpatient and hospital settings. You will manage patient intakes, assist with exams, perform EKGs and specimen collection, and document in the EHR.

The role emphasizes infection control, care coordination, and patient education, with a focus on compassionate, culturally competent care and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year experience in a physician's office, clinic, or hospital setting.
• Experience with EHR systems (Epic, Athena, Cerner or equivalent).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certification or registration (AAMA, AMT, NHA or equivalent) required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• EKG or phlebotomy certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient intakes with vitals and histories.
• Assist during examinations, wound care, and procedures.
• Perform EKGs, immunizations, and specimen collection.
• Prepare and process lab samples and point-of-care tests.
• Maintain infection control, safety, and equipment calibration.
• Support care coordination and patient triage across settings.
• Educate patients on medications, plans, and preventive care.
• Document data and provider instructions in the EHR.
• Schedule, confirm, and track appointments and referrals.
• Verify insurance and assist with prior authorizations and coding.
