Job summary

Franciscan Alliance is seeking a Medical Assistant Team Lead for Franklin Township Family Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. This full-time role supports a day-shift outpatient clinic, with sign-on bonus opportunities and opportunities for professional development.

You will supervise MA staff, assist with patient flow, take vitals, document in the EMR, and coordinate vaccinations and med reconciliation under supervision.

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma/GED.
• Required Medical Assistant Program.
• In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience.
• 2 years Medical Assisting Required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants (RMA).
• Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) - National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP).
• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA).

Responsibilities

• Room patients and take vitals.
• Obtain comprehensive medical history.
• Document care via electronic medical record (EMR).
• Administer vaccines, injections, and medications.
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing.
• Conduct medication reconciliation under supervision of RN/Provider.

• Provide a more personal approach to direct patient care in a variety of outpatient settings, which may include: rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, document care of patient via electronic medical record, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medication reconciliation under the supervision of RN/Provider.
• Gather requirements from internal and external customers and provide information via phone, electronic messaging and in person.
• Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and process sample medications, prescriptions, and refills as directed.
