Franciscan Alliance, Inc. is seeking Medical Assistant Floats to support multiple ambulatory clinics in Michigan City, Indiana. The role assists providers, schedules appointments, enters data into electronic medical records, and coordinates care between patients and staff.

The position may float to regional offices and requires the ability to handle multiple tasks, take vital signs, and support vaccines, injections, phlebotomy, and other procedures under RN/Provider supervision.

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma/GED
• Required Program Medical Assisting
• Required Program In lieu of program, 5 years of medical assistant experience
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
• Multiple Medical Assistant certifications listed (RMA, CMA, CCMA, etc.)

At Franciscan, our Medical Assistant Floats are criticalfor supporting a variety of clinical duties for multiple ambulatory clinics. This role assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, executing physician orders for lab testing, entering information in electronic medical record system, and functions as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers.

• Provide a more personal approach to direct patient care in a variety of outpatientsettings, which may include rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensivemedical history, document care of patient via electronic medical record, administeringvaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medicationreconciliation under the supervision of RN/Provider.

• Gather requirements from internal and external customers and provide informationvia phone, electronic messaging and in person.

• Initiate and follow through on prior authorizations, referrals, and process samplemedications, prescriptions, and refills as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Required High School Diploma/GED

• Required Program Medical Assisting
