Job summary

Franciscan Health, Stones Crossing Medical Campus, Greenwood, IN, seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinical duties across ambulatory clinics. The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, documenting care in the EHR, administering vaccines, injections and medications, and performing phlebotomy under RN/Provider supervision.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a Medical Assisting program or equivalent experience, and multiple MA certifications.

• BLS from American Heart Association.
• RMA credential from American Allied Health.

• NRCMA from NAHP.
• NCMA from NCCT.
• CCMA from NHA.

Responsibilities

• Support providers and staff in coordinating patient care.
• Room patients, take vitals, obtain medical history.
• Document care in electronic medical record system.
• Administer vaccines, injections and medications.
• Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing under supervision.
• Assist with prior authorizations, referrals, and prescriptions.

At Franciscan, our Medical Assistants are critical for supporting a variety of clinical duties for multiple ambulatory clinics. This role assists providers and staff in coordinating patient care, scheduling appointments, executing physician orders for lab testing, entering information in electronic medical record system, and functions as a liaison between patients, coworkers, and providers. Provide a more personal approach to direct patient care in a variety of outpatient settings, which may include: rooming patients, taking vitals, obtaining a comprehensive medical history, document care of patient via electronic medical record, administering vaccines, injections, and medications, phlebotomy, point of care testing and medication reconciliation under the supervision of RN/Provider.
