Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II to join the care team in a clinical setting. You will perform both clinical and administrative duties, support patient flow, and ensure high-quality, compassionate care across the lifespan.

The role requires CMA/RMA certification, BLS, a completed MA program or equivalent, and at least two years of clinical MA experience. You will work with physicians and nurses, handling rooming, procedures, and patient education.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical training per DD214 or EM.
• Certified as CMA or RMA by recognized national organizations.
• Current AHA BLS certification required.
• Two years of clinical Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain vital signs, and update medical information.
• Collect specimens and perform basic lab testing per infection control standards.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and minor surgeries.
• Administer medications, immunizations, injections, and IV therapy as permitted.
• Educate patients and coordinate follow-up care, referrals, and prescriptions.
