Job summary

University Health Services at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Medical Assistant II for the Primary Care (First Floor) clinic on UT's Main Campus. This 40-hour weekly, non-exempt position supports patient care under the supervision of medical providers.

The role requires completing an accredited Medical Assistant program with CMA/CCMA certification, three years of experience in primary care or sports medicine, and CPR within 90 days of hire; proficiency in EMR and MS Office is

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program with CMA/CCMA certification.
• At least three years of Medical Assistant experience in primary care or sports medicine.
• CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Experience serving as liaison between clinic manager and staff.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build camaraderie and teamwork.
• Professional demeanor and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists with evaluation and care of patients to be seen by UHS providers.
• Demonstrates regular and punctual attendance.
• Performs department-specific procedures per UHS policies.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and participates in quality improvement.
• Maintains knowledge to provide high quality patient care.
• Participates in maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
• Acts on other assignments as needed.
