Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch is seeking a Medical Assistant II to provide technical, supportive and age-appropriate patient care in the assigned clinic. You will work as part of a Patient Centered Medical Home clinical team, performing both clinical and administrative tasks to support smooth clinic operations.

Requires high school or equivalent, three years' experience, CMA/registered medical assistant with national credential and CPR.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required.
• Three years experience required.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation (AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA or other). CPR Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform as Medical Assistant and Front desk Registration training.
• Able to effectively identify problems and determine solutions.
• Understand clinic flow to maximize clinic usage to meet patient needs.
• Assists with patient flow within assigned outpatient clinic setting and responds to call-lights.
• Performs clinical and supportive patient care skills per plan of care and policy.
• Reconcile medications and administer medications as assigned and per policy.
• Document and communicate interventions and measurements to health care providers.
• Assist in maintenance of equipment, supplies, and environment.
• Respect patient rights and maintain confidentiality.
• Provide professional, courteous service and build rapport with patients and families.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and support clinic/team goals.
• Function as a team member and participate in clinical meetings and ongoing education.
