Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required or 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in lieu of a diploma.
• Completion of Medical Assistant Program required.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Three to five (3-5) years in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques and medical/laboratory terminology required.
• One to two (1-2) years of experience assisting in performing laboratory assays preferred.
• Computer skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsabilités

• Prepare patients for provider exam, take vital signs, and assist in office procedures.
• Administer treatments, medications and injections as ordered.
• Conduct pre-visit planning by reviewing and updating patient charts with recent test results.
• Call patients regarding test results as instructed by provider.
• Perform blood collection by venipuncture and arterial puncture.
• Participate in data entry, specimen processing and retrieval of laboratory order information.
• Communicate with clients to help resolve specimen concerns as required.
