Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant II to support examination and treatment by tracking patient information, documenting the medical record, and assisting with in-office procedures and testing.

You will administer medications, educate patients and caregivers, and coordinate care with providers, including prior authorizations and test result communications. 1–3 years of clinical experience and MA program completion are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Completion of an accredited MA program or MA externship/internship with EMT/paramedic background is desirable.
• Current CPR certification and Michigan State credentials as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Indirect work support, e.g., managing tasks.
• Performs moderate to complex gaps in care.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Support within scope with prior authorizations.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Quality control, e.g., lab logs, practice audits.
• Coordinate care and serve as liaison between patients and providers.
• Transcribes patient exam information, diagnosis and plan into medical record.
