Job summary

IU Health is seeking a compassionate Medical Assistant to support patient care under supervision, ensure smooth patient flow, and handle registration and scheduling duties.

Responsibilities include maintaining EMR files, basic front-office tasks, and potential precepting of MA team members or externs as directed by leadership. AHA BLS certification and CMA/CCMA-type credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, or CMAC certs preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA and ADA required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Experience with EMR and front-office tasks preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision and assist clinician as directed.
• Manage registration and scheduling per department procedures.
• Maintain EMR files and perform basic front-office tasks as needed.
• Precept MA team members or externs as requested by leadership.
