Job summary

MaineHealth is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support patient care and administrative tasks in a collaborative team-based office. The MA II works under the physician/advanced practitioner license for clinical duties, promoting smooth patient flow and care coordination.

Requirements include High School diploma/GED, MA program with clinical hours or equivalent experience, and current certs (AAMA/NHA/AMT/NCCT) with BLS either on start or within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited Medical Assisting program with 160 hours of clinical experience, or completion of an Adult Education Medical Assistant program with 6 months clinical experience, or 1 year of clinical experience in a multi-provider practice.
• Current certification required: AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT; BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date.
• Six months MA experience or one year as MaineHealth Clinical Team Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Duties and responsibilities related to patient care and administrative support in a team-based environment.
• Functions under the license of the physician/advanced practice practitioner when performing clinical and other patient care responsibilities.
