MaineGeneral Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant II to support the AFM team. You will help keep visits running smoothly, assist patients and providers, collect specimens, and handle administrative duties.

Strong communication and attention to detail are essential as you balance clinical and clerical tasks in a team-focused, patient-first environment. Candidates should have MA experience, certification, and an associate degree in Medical Assisting.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Certified by an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Possession of an associate degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited school.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to balance clinical and administrative responsibilities.
• Team-focused mindset with a patient-first approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting statistics and preparing patients for visits.
• Assist providers during examinations and with basic diagnostic procedures.
• Perform specimen collection and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Document patient care and perform filing, scheduling, and data entry.
• Maintain equipment and supplies, restock, clean, and troubleshoot exam areas.
