Job summary

MaineGeneral Health in Augusta, ME is seeking a Medical Assistant II - Certified to support our Primary Care team. Under supervision of medical staff, you’ll help prepare patients for visits, assist during examinations, collect specimens, and document care to help visits run smoothly.

This 40-hour, Monday–Friday daytime role offers a consistent schedule, collaborative teamwork, and meaningful work that directly impacts patient care and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be certified by an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Associate degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited school required.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail required.
• Ability to balance clinical and administrative responsibilities and work within a team.

Responsibilities

• Assists with collecting statistics and prepares patient for visit and medical staff.
• Prepare patients for visits and assist providers during examinations.
• Assists with basic diagnostic procedures and performs specimen collection as required.
• Documents patient care given and maintains examination areas.
