Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with completion of a Medical Assistant certificate program.
• Medical Assistant certificate from an approved school.
• 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
• BCLS certification (AHA) is required.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care duties including venipuncture, EKGs, and assisting with exams/procedures.
• Handles clerical tasks such as processing medical records, lab reports, and charting in EMR.
• Enters orders into EMR or processes prescription refills for physician approval.
• Maintains medical supplies and prepares examination rooms per infection control standards.
• Keeps logs for medication refrigeration, point-of-care testing, and sterilization processes.
• Schedules surgeries/procedures in coordination with Surgical Coordinator and prepares charts.
• May perform phlebotomy duties and assist with patient appointment scheduling and registration.
