Job summary

Millennium Physician Group in Nokomis, Florida is seeking a Medical Assistant II (CMA/RMA) to support ambulatory and specialty clinics with patient intake, exams, and procedures under the supervision of a physician or licensed provider.

The role requires CMA or RMA certification and a high school diploma, with preferred BLS and EHR experience. The candidate will help with vital signs, specimens, documentation, and care-team coordination in a fast-paced clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2–4 years of medical assistant, clinical support, or ambulatory care experience.
• CMA, RMA, or equivalent Medical Assistant certification or registration required.
• Basic Life Support certification preferred; knowledge of ambulatory care workflows and infection prevention.
• Experience using electronic health record systems to document patient information and support care team communication.
• Strong communication, organization, and judgment to support patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, review history, and prepare for exams.
• Assist physicians with exams, procedures, and specimen collection.
• Complete follow-up tasks, including patient communication and documentation updates.
• Support medication, vaccine, and supply workflows and escalate issues per procedures.
• Identify gaps in documentation and patient information; resolve routine issues.
• Maintain exam rooms and equipment in a safe, clean state.

Job Description Summary

We are excited to announce an opening for Medical Assistant II (CMA/RMA) in our Nokomis, Florida clinic! The Medical Assistant II (CMA/RMA) performs certified or registered Medical Assistant work that supports timely, coordinated care across ambulatory and specialty practice settings. Work includes patient intake, clinical documentation, specimen handling, medication support, and care team workflow support under the direct supervision of a physician or other licensed provider and within approved clinical protocols, applicable state requirements, and site standards for Medical Assistant work.

Medical Assistant II (CMA/RMA) works under moderate supervision and applies working knowledge of clinical support procedures to complete routine and moderately complex assignments. Decisions impact patient support activities, operational effectiveness, and team outcomes.

How will you make an impact & Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, review medication and history information, and prepare patients for exams or procedures.
• Assist physicians and other licensed providers with exams, procedures, treatments, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and other assigned clinical activities.
• Complete assigned patient follow-up tasks, including patient communication, documentation updates, order preparation, and care team coordination within established protocols.
• Support medication, vaccine, and supply workflows by preparing materials, checking inventory, documenting use, and escalating issues according to site procedures.
• Identify gaps in documentation, visit preparation, or patient information and resolve routine issues to support accurate and timely care delivery.
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment, instruments, and clinical supplies in a safe, clean, and ready condition.
• Support onboarding or daily guidance for less experienced medical assistants by answering routine workflow questions and modeling standard practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2-4 years of medical assistant, clinical support, or ambulatory care experience.
• CMA, RMA, or equivalent Medical Assistant certification or registration required.
• Basic Life Support certification preferred; Working knowledge of ambulatory care workflows, patient intake, clinical documentation, point-of-care testing, medication support, and infection prevention.
• Experience using electronic health record systems to document patient information, route messages, and support care team communication.
• Strong communication, organization, and judgment to support patients, providers, and clinical staff in routine and moderately complex situations.

Compensation Range:

$18.00 to $27.00

The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
