Job summary

Sutter Health’s SP MF-Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation - South is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and clerical support to providers and patient care teams. You will help implement the medical plan of care and ensure smooth patient flow within the department under clinician supervision.

The role requires HS Diploma or GED, CA Medical Board-compliant MA training (diploma within 90 days) or Sutter Health on-the-job training, BLS certification, and 1 year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required as listed
• Completion of CA Medical Board-compliant Medical Assistant training with diploma due within 90 days
• OR completion of Sutter Health on-the-job training in medical assisting equivalent to one year

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and clerical support to providers and patient care teams
• Assist the patient care team in implementing the medical plan of care and ensure smooth patient workflow in the department
• Integrate education, technical competence, and patient interaction to gain trust from patient and family
• Perform duties under the direction of a clinician
