Job summary

Olympia Fields Hospital seeks a Medical Assistant to support the Family Medicine team at 1400 Otto Blvd, Chicago Heights, IL. You will assist providers with patient care, clerical duties, insurance verifications, and prior authorizations while managing appointments and charting.

The role requires at least six months in urgent or primary care, a high school diploma, and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program. English fluency and a timely BLS certification are essential.

Qualifications

  • Six months’ experience in Urgent Care, Primary Care physician practice setting and/or direct patient care experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion in an accredited Medical Assistant Training program.
  • Fluency in English.
  • BLS within 30 days of hire.
  • Basic Arrhythmia training within 90 days of hire, if required by department.

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers with patient care, clerical tasks, insurance verification and prior authorizations.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient charts.
  • Provide patients with information to help them utilize clinic services effectively.
  • Represent the organization positively in all interactions; perform tasks under licensed clinician supervision.

Responsibilities

Responsible for assisting providers with patient care, clerical, insurance verification and prior authorizations, environmental and organization tasks. Responsible for appointment scheduling and chart management. Provides Information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services. Conveys a positive image of organization. All clinical tasks performed by MA II’s must occur under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician (MD, DO, APN, PA) who is physically present in the facility and immediately available.
