Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or DD214-based clinical military training in lieu of a formal MA program.
• Weekend/short-term requirements may apply per facility (Wake Forest/Greater Charlotte).
• 2 years full-time MA experience in last 5 years may be required in some divisions (IL/WI, Floyd/Navicent).
• BLS certification as required by division; obtain within 45 days where noted.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies to deliver patient care.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, med reconciliation, history, screenings, and health maintenance.
• Assists providers with procedures and lab duties, including venipuncture and POCT.
• Administers medications and vaccines following the rights of administration.
• Handles duties such as refills, referrals, scheduling, and insurance authorizations.
• Maintains clean work environment and ensures equipment is in working order.
• Communicates effectively with patients and team members and escalates when needed.
