Job summary

Unio Health Partners in Pasadena, CA is seeking a Medical Assistant I to support patient care delivery across our clinical team. You will assist with vitals, charting, room turnover, specimen collection, injections, and EMR documentation, under physician supervision. A positive, patient-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 0-3 years healthcare experience preferred including EMR system experience.
• Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred (languages may vary by location).
• Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient turnover of patient rooms and maintain timely daily schedule flow.
• Provide patient care: taking vitals, documenting intake forms, medical history, explain procedure instructions, assist with follow up care.
• Maintain instruments and equipment: sterilized, disinfect, autoclaved, and follow cleaning/storage per item specs.
• Submit prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and labs.
• Assist with updating supply order lists and maintain stock; prevent shortages.
• Assist physicians with procedures: patient room and tray setup, specimen collection, phlebotomy, injections, and reconstitution of medications.
• Prepare EMR daily: retrieve/upload labs, diagnostic studies, post-op reports, authorizations, and ensure meds/supplies are in stock for upcoming appointments.
