Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with completion of an approved Medical Assistant certificate.
• RMA or CMA – National Certification Required.
• BCLS certification – Required by AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills patient care responsibilities, e.g., venipuncture and/or EKGs, patient flow coordination, and assisting patients as needed.
• Fulfills clerical tasks, such as sending/receiving patient records, obtaining reports, and managing charts.
• Enters orders into the EMR or prepares prescription refill requests for physician review.
• Maintains inventory and restocks medical supplies as applicable.
• Sets up examination rooms and instruments per sterilization and infection control policies.
• Maintains logging systems for medications, testing, and supplies.
• Checks expiration dates and disposes of items per policy.
• Follows PPE and safety standards to protect staff and patients.
