Job summary

ChristianaCare Women’s Health at Elkton is seeking a professional, dependable Medical Assistant I to support physicians during examinations and treatments, either virtually or on-site. This role blends clinical and clerical duties to ensure quality patient care.

You will greet patients, prepare them for visits, perform basic tasks (testing, injections, EKGs), manage EMR updates, referrals, authorizations, scheduling, and portal support. A High School diploma or MA program/credential is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an MA program or certified MA credential preferred.
• Ability to perform basic clinical tasks and use EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet and support patients virtually and in person.
• Prepare patients for visits and assist with exams.
• Perform clinical tasks (testing, injections, EKGs).
• Maintain exam rooms and equipment; manage EMR updates.
• Handle referrals, authorizations, scheduling, and patient portal support.
