ChristianaCare Gastroenterology at Elkton is seeking a Medical Assistant I to support physicians during exams and treatments, in both virtual and on-site appointments. This role is essential for delivering high-quality patient care within a busy practice.

The Medical Assistant I greets patients, prepares them for visits, performs basic clinical tasks (testing, injections, EKGs), and maintains rooms and equipment. Monday–Friday, 8am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED required.
• Graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the NCCA or ANSI.

Responsibilities

• Greets and supports patients virtually and in person, prepares them for visits.
• Performs basic clinical tasks such as testing, injections, and EKGs.
• Assists with exams and maintains exam rooms and equipment.
• Manages EMR updates, patient communications, referrals, authorizations, and scheduling.
• Handles clerical duties and troubleshoots video visits; supports patient portal access.

ChristianaCare Gastroenterology at provides specialized gastrointestinal and liver care to patients throughout the community. The practice is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care with a strong focus on colorectal cancer prevention and screening, digestive health, and the diagnosis and treatment of liver disease. Services include advanced gastrointestinal procedures such as colonoscopy and capsule endoscopy, as well as evaluation and management of a variety of liver conditions, including hepatitis, fatty liver disease, cirrhosis, liver cancer, and inherited liver disorders.

As a Medical Assistant I, you will assist physicians during the examination and treatment of patients, whether through virtual or on-site appointments. This role is crucial for delivering quality patient care and encompasses various clinical and clerical duties within medical practice.

Hourly Pay Range: $19.10 - $27.69This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
