Job Details
  • Part-time, 24 hours/week
  • Variable day shift
  • Onsite, with travel required to Stow and Hudson offices
  • $2,000 Sign on bonus [taxable] available
Summary

The Medical Assistant role provides clinical and administrative support for patients under the direction of a Provider and/or licensed Nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examination, take and record vital signs, perform phlebotomy as needed, administer medications as directed by Providers according to policy and procedure.
  • Collect data contributing to the assessment and evaluation of patient care, including discharge plans, under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse.
  • Collect, process, and submit laboratory specimens per policy and procedure.
  • Communicate patient findings and pertinent information to Providers and/or Licensed Nurses using appropriate documentation processes.
  • Accurately document care within the EPIC system.
  • Perform point-of-service activities such as appointment scheduling, visit preparation, co-payment collection, and patient tracking.
  • Perform department-specific clinical duties such as POCT, hearing and vision screenings, and other procedures.
  • Handle routine office duties like faxing, copying, and filing as needed.
  • Clean, stock, and prepare examination rooms.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Follow safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience in phlebotomy preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology required.
  • Experience in healthcare environment preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) required.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC) preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant, EMT, or Paramedic Program required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • Medical Assistant certification preferred.
  • No prior experience required.
