Job summary

CLS Health PLLC in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for a multispecialty practice. You will support clinicians, room patients, take vitals, and manage chart prep. Travel to other CLS Health locations may be required.

The position requires 2+ years of MA experience, a certified/registered MA credential, excellent communication, and strong attention to detail. Proficiency in MS Office and medical terminology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certified or registered Medical Assistant with national accreditation.
• 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room the patient.
• Interview/update patient’s chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.
• Prepare patient charts a week in advance and verify benefits reports.
• Scan documents to appropriate patient charts.
• Stock and clean all rooms before, after, and at day end.
• Refill patient medications and obtain pre-authorization/determination for medications.
• Assist the physician in the exam room with wound care and/or procedures.
• Follow up on calls/voicemails and document conversations.
• Educate patients on DI, labs, referrals, and procedures ordered.
• Schedule patients for upcoming appointments after visit.
