The McLean Hospital Corporation is seeking a Radiology Support professional to assist radiology technologists and ensure a safe, efficient imaging environment. You will help prepare patients, operate equipment, and support image handling and documentation on-site at 115 Mill Street.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and prepare patients for radiology procedures, explaining the imaging process.
  • Prepare and arrange radiology equipment (X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound) for imaging.
  • Help position patients to obtain clear and accurate images.
  • Assist radiology technologists with image processing and PACS transfer.
  • Transport patients safely to and from the radiology department.
  • Maintain supplies and track items in the radiology department.
  • Keep accurate records for medical and billing purposes.

Job Summary

Responsible for assisting radiology technologists and radiologists with various tasks, ensuring the proper functioning of equipment, and providing a safe and comfortable environment for patients during imaging procedures.

Essential Functions
  • Greet and prepare patients for radiology procedures, explaining the imaging process and answering any questions they may have.
  • Prepare and arrange radiology equipment, including X-ray machines, CT scanners, MRI machines, and ultrasound devices, for imaging procedures.
  • Help position patients correctly on the imaging table or in the appropriate standing/sitting position to obtain clear and accurate images.
  • Assist radiology technologists with image processing tasks, such as labeling and organizing digital images, and transferring them to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Assist in transporting patients to and from the radiology department, ensuring their safety and comfort during the process.
  • Keep track of supplies, including contrast agents, gowns, and other necessary items in the radiology department.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient procedures, ensuring that all relevant information is documented properly for medical records and billing purposes.

  • The role may involve lifting and moving patients, as well as standing for extended periods during procedures.
