Job summary

UnitedHealth Group, through OptumCare and the Kelsey-Seybold Clinic network, is hiring Medical Assistants at multiple levels (I–III) to support patient care under licensed professionals. Roles span MA I–III with increasing responsibilities and opportunities for advancement across Houston area clinics.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and MA training or relevant experience, plus BLS and basic medical terminology.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program OR 1 year of directly related experience without certification.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Basic medical/nursing terminology.
• Computer proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide supportive patient care functions under supervision.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort in accordance with legal and professional standards.
• Perform delegated tasks as directed by a physician or RN.
• Administer injectables and perform advanced clinical tasks (MA II).
• Perform high-level clinical procedures and serve as a resource for less experienced staff (MA III).

Education

High School Diploma or GED
