Job summary

Medical Assistant I / II / III - Woodlands Orthopedics

Position Overview

Functions as a member of the clinical team, supporting patient care delivery that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Promote quality patient care and customer satisfaction.
  2. Prepare for patient visits, ensuring schedules, test results, and clinic requirements are ready.
  3. Room patients, document chief complaints, vital signs, medication lists, allergies, and other relevant information.
  4. Perform procedures such as hearing and vision tests, EKG, spirometry, specimen collection, and equipment cleaning, as validated by competency.
  5. Maintain and stock clinical rooms, prepare for procedures, and assist as needed.
  6. Schedule follow-up appointments and perform clerical duties including photocopying, scanning, and faxing.
  7. Screen patients via phone and in person, with appropriate follow-up.
  8. Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program preferred.
  • Minimum of six months experience or completion of an approved Medical Assistant Training Program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Use and care of standard clinic equipment.
Physical Requirements

Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly to move objects.

Additional Information
  • This position may be security sensitive under Texas Education Code 51.215.
  • Residency in Texas required.
