Job Description

UTHealth Houston is Texas’ resource for healthcare education, innovation, scientific discovery, and excellence in patient care. We are seeking dedicated Medical Assistants to join our team and contribute to individualized orthopedic care provided by experienced specialists.

Responsibilities include:
  • Assisting in patient care activities, including preparing examination rooms, taking vital signs, and documenting patient information.
  • Performing basic clinical procedures such as hearing and vision tests, EKG, spirometry, specimen collection, and equipment reprocessing.
  • Supporting clinical team with scheduling, patient follow-ups, and clerical duties.
  • Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program preferred.
  • Minimum of six months of experience or completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and up to 20 pounds frequently.
