Job Description

Medical Assistant I provides supportive patient care functions for an assigned clinical area under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse, ensuring patient safety and comfort according to standards. Some duties may be delegated by the physician or RN.

Medical Assistant II/III provides similar support but includes additional duties such as administration of injectables or other high-level skills.

Education

• Required: High School Diploma or GED; graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program

Experience

• MA I: Entry-level; no experience or 1 year related experience with or without certification
• MA II: 5 years related experience with certification or 6 years without certification
• MA III: 8-9 years related experience with or without certification

Skills & Certifications

• Complete review/skill validation within 90 days
• Computer skills, basic medical terminology, Windows experience, EPIC experience preferred
• Required: BLS certification through the American Heart Association
