Job Description

Medical Assistant I provides supportive patient care functions for an assigned clinical area, under the supervision of a Physician, Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse, ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational, and professional standards. Some duties may be delegated to the MA by the physician or RN.

Medical Assistant II/III provides similar supportive care functions, with additional responsibilities including administration of injectables and other high-level skills.

Salary Range: $39,179 – $57,548 (based on experience, education, certifications)

Qualifications

Education

Required: High School Diploma or GED; graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.

Experience

MA I: Entry-level, no experience or 1 year related experience with no certification (employees before Nov 24, 2024, grandfathered).

MA II: 5 years related experience with certification or 6 years without.

MA III: 8 years related experience with certification or 9 years without.

Skills & Certifications

• Basic medical terminology, computer skills, EPIC experience preferred
• BLS certification through American Heart Association required for MA I; BLS for MA II/III
