Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support under the guidance of a Provider or licensed Nurse. This on-site, full-time role includes patient preparation, vital signs, phlebotomy, data collection, and EPIC documentation.

The position requires a Medical Assistant program, BLS, and knowledge of medical terminology; phlebotomy experience is preferred. Office software and EPIC EMR familiarity are expected; HS diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and experience in medical terminology is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examination; takes and records vital signs; performs phlebotomy as needed; administers medications as directed by Providers according to policy and procedure.
