Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Medical Assistant I to support clinical and administrative tasks. You will room patients, take vitals, document in the EMR, and assist with routine procedures under supervision.

This entry-level role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and CMA/RMA/CCMA certification within 6 months of hire is preferred. BLS certification is preferred or within 60 days of hire.

The Medical Assistant I is an an entry-level role focused on developing foundational clinical and administrative skills. This role supports patient care under supervision by performing basic tasks such as rooming patients, recording vital signs, and assisting with routine clinical duties. The Medical Assistant I will work collaboratively with the care team to ensure efficient and compassionate care delivery.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Rooming patients, adheres to rooming guidelines, vitals, accurately documents in the EMR, basic tests/procedures, medications and vaccinesDocument patient information in the EMR accuratelyPrepare exam rooms with the required equipment and suppliesAssist providers with basic examinations and proceduresMaintain exam room cleanliness and report low stock levelsFollow infection control, safety, and confidentiality protocolsAnswer and route phone calls appropriatelySupport appointment scheduling, patient check-in, and chart managementPerform basic clerical tasks such as filing and scanningMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalentCompletion of accredited Medical Assistant programCertification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) is preferred or obtained within 6 months of hireCurrent AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification for healthcare providers with hands on component preferred or within 60 days of hire
