Advocate Health in Harrisburg, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time day-shift role. The position supports internal medicine clinic operations, rooming patients, performing routine labs, and assisting providers with procedures.

The ideal candidate has a Medical Assistant program completion or equivalent military training, basic life support, and strong patient communication skills. 40-hour work week with a standard daytime schedule.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within Medical Assistant scope.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; maintain professional relationships.
• Proficient computer skills including EMR usage and email.
• Demonstrates customer service skills supporting a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and site policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, med reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, sample handling, POCT, CLIA waivered tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights.
• Handles refills, authorizations, scheduling, referrals.
• Cross trained for related duties within department.
• Maintains timely communication, teamwork, and escalation.
• Keeps environment clean and stocked.
