Job summary

Johns Hopkins Community Physicians in Annapolis, MD is seeking a Medical Assistant (CMA) for our Annapolis/Edgewater Family/Internal Medicine practice. You will assist with patient flow, administer medications and immunizations, and record vital signs in a busy ambulatory setting.

Full-time, 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri 8:00–5:00; requires a High School Diploma or GED, CMA certification within 3 months of hire, CPR certification, and 2+ years of ambulatory care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; CMA certification within 3 months of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required; CPR certification upon hire and recertification every two years.
• Two years of ambulatory care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

We are looking for a Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide high quality care to patients at our Annapolis/Edgewater Family/Internal Medicine practice. The Medical Assistant administers medications and immunizations, obtains vital signs, maintains inventory of appropriate supplies, ensures safe and efficient patient flow.

Shift: Non-exempt - Full-time - 40 hours per week - Mon-Fri - 8:00 - 5:00 p.m.

What You'll Need To Be Successful

• High School Diploma or GED required. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Training Program preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant required successful completion of the AAMA, RMA/AMT, NCRMA (NAHP), NCMA(NCCT), RCMAS(NCMA), CCMA(NHA) or RMA (American Allied Health). Medical Assistant Certification, required within 3 months of hire. Five or more years of specific applicable MA experience in primary medical care may be substituted for formal training program provided eligibility for RMA(American Medical Technologists) exam. A valid CPR certification required upon hire and recertification required every two years.
• Two years’ experience in an ambulatory care setting is preferred.
