Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, MD is hiring a Medical Assistant I to join our care team. The MAI assists physicians, supports patient care, and helps maintain clinical flow and accurate EHR documentation.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED and at least 1 year of MA or EMT-Paramedic experience; CPR preferred. We offer competitive pay USD 17.83–26.75/hour, a $1,500 sign-on bonus through 12/31/2026, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
• 1 year of MA or EMT-Paramedic experience preferred.
• CPR-preferred

Responsibilities

• Set up and assist with office procedures.
• Chaperone providers during patient examination.
• Take pre-op and post-op photos of patients.
• Maintain surgical instruments and transport to Central Sterile (CSS).
• Process surgical specimens and transport to Pathology.
• Maintain and stock exam rooms.
• Order clinical supplies.
• Complete FMLA and Disability forms.
• Travel to satellite locations as needed.
• Take patient vital signs and document medical histories in EHR.
• Administer injections, blood draws, and immunizations (on-site training provided).
• Perform basic laboratory tests and specimen processing.
• Provide patient education and instructions as directed by healthcare providers.
