Job summary

Santa Cruz Community Health is seeking a Medical Assistant I for a temporary, full-time role at the Women's Health Center in Santa Cruz, CA. The MA will support patient-centered care within the PCMH model, perform back-office tasks, take vital signs, and assist providers during exams.

Qualifications include completion of a Clinical Medical Assistant program with externship, a high school diploma, current BLS/CPR, and at least one year of back-office experience; bilingual English/Spanish

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent
• Completion of Clinical Medical Assistant program including externship
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Minimum of one year back-office experience
• Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred (preferred qualification)

Responsibilities

• Provide health education to patients under the direction of medical providers
• Assist providers with medical procedures and provide direct patient care when demand is high
• Attend and participate in organization meetings and assigned training courses
• Ensure protection of individually identifiable health information by HIPAA regulations
• Assist Clinic Manager in ensuring facilities are safe and meet staff and patient needs
